Participating in Congress

Call for papers and for sessions

The "Call for paper" puts into perspective the notion of “Courtly knowledge,” which is at the heart of the 18th Congress of the International Courtly Literature Society.

Several topics can be explored:

- The diversity of courtly “knowledge”
- Courtliness and education
- The embodiment of knowledge
- Literary models of courtoisie
- Courtoisie and didactic genres
- Sources of scholarly, literary or scientific knowledge used in constructing courtoisie
- Intertextuality
- The relationship between courtoisie and the art of writing (poetic forms, lyric modes, metapoetic discourse).
- Literary courtoisie and sociology

Proposals of no more than 200 words, for 20-minute presentations in English or French, should be sent before November 20, 2025, to the following address: silc_montpellier_2026@univ-montp3.fr.
