Participating in Congress

The "Call for paper" puts into perspective the notion of “Courtly knowledge,” which is at the heart of the 18^th Congress of the International Courtly Literature Society.

Several topics can be explored:

- The diversity of courtly “knowledge”
- Courtliness and education
- The embodiment of knowledge
- Literary models of courtoisie
- Courtoisie and didactic genres
- Sources of scholarly, literary or scientific knowledge used in constructing courtoisie
- Intertextuality
- The relationship between courtoisie and the art of writing (poetic forms, lyric modes, metapoetic discourse).
- Literary courtoisie and sociology

Proposals of no more than 200 words, for 20-minute presentations in English or French, should be sent before November 20, 2025, to the following address: silc_montpellier_2026@univ-montp3.fr.
